Rain, rain, go away!!! The McChristian and Smyser families pulled it off!! With the tremendous amounts of rain the area experienced last weekend, the Smyser wedding had to relocate venues within a matter of days. While I’m sure that Matt & Caitlin’s wedding would have been beautiful at her grandparent’s farm, mother nature had other plans for their big day. The rain may have put a slight damper on their plans but their day was rerouted in 48 hours and turned out to be gorgeous even with sprinkles and steady showers for most of the day.
When I first met Matt & Caitlin I could just tell that they were the most genuine and laid back people you could ask for. I really enjoyed their engagement session and knew that their wedding would be a blast. Their venues landed at The Cornerstone Church of Marion and the Sesquicentennial building both in Palmyra, MO. It was definitely good timing with the fact that both of the venues happened to be open with such short notice!
Caitlin and her bridal party were able to use her Grandparent’s home for prep while Matt and the groomsmen hung out at the Symser’s home. Throughout the day you could just tell how well these two families just blend. It was definitely a fun crew to be around. With the rain, we were limited to when and where we could shoot. Thankfully that too worked out in our favor. There’s no rain that can stop some gorgeous images. I brought along my collection of umbrellas and we toughed it out. A big thank you to The Olive Branch and The Stone House Inn for the use of their properties while we worked around the rain. OH and a big shout out to Matt, Caitlin and their entire wedding party for being such troopers when I had them in and out of the rain for a big part of the day. I think when they look back at their wedding album they will laugh about the rain and havoc it reeked the week and day of their wedding. They say it’s good luck for rain on your wedding day, right?? Well if that’s the case, Matt & Caitlin are set! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Smyser!!!! Thanks for having me be a part of your wedding!
